🐚 Let´s start with something GREAT: @Amanda | World of Alidia and @Stephnie.x | World of Alidia have joined in as co-owners of World of Alidia - YAAAAAY! 🥳👯♀️🙌🏻 Both Steph and Amanda have been such essential parts of building, creating and running WoA for such a long time, so for me and Niklas it felt like the absolute most natural thing to do - to share this project with them. World of Alidia is as much the creation of Amanda & Stephanie, as it is mine and Niklas. 💞 Our brilliant globetrotter @TJ will of course also keep her role as WoA Ambassador, and we feel extremely fortunate to have these amazingly talented, driven, solution-oriented, creative and FUN women on board, and can’t think of a better team to continue this journey with. 💪🏻 We are so grateful for this KICK-ASS constellation! 🥳🎈🙌🏻
🐚 Now for something a bit less great; OpenSea´s decision to stop honoring creators royalties. 😅 I think everyone in the space hoped that OpenSea wouldn’t go in this direction (which means royalties are now only paid if the buyer of an NFT actively chooses to do this - which basically no-one will do since it will cost them more money), but now it has happened. 😞 We all know that anything can change quickly in Web3, so we don’t know - it might change back again, or other options for creators earning royalties might emerge. What we DO know is that right now our royalties are gone, and with that the future income on which we greatly depend. This, in combination with a year of bear market makes for very, very challenging times.

But! We will NOT STOP, we all believe in WoA long-term and we will be creative and persistent and MAKE IT THROUGH this bump in the road. 👊🏻✨ We want to be completely honest with you though: There is a crisis ripping through the NFT industry (the overall NFT sales are down 95% compared to this time last year and now losing the royalties was a hard blow), and as we see it our main focus right now will have to be on surviving. We see so, SO many projects shutting down and giving up - which means the ones that survive and make it through the other side will be winners in so many ways. And WoA WILL be one of those! 💪🏻💥
This does mean that our funds are slowly but surely ticking away though, so we are doing our absolute best in being as cost effective as possible. Everyone in the team work without salaries, and we will continue to do so until our economy has turned. Without income it´s impossible to provide utilities that are expensive (like big irl events), but we will continue with the digital workshops - and I’ll do my absolute best on a personal level to try and arrange a smaller irl event for us before summer by pulling all the network strings I have (in the hopes of making that happen for free 💓

We will also continue to offer discounts and digital utilities that will help educate us all in Web3 - like the token gated experience we´ll be doing in collaboration with NORN in a couple of weeks. Will be fun! 🌟
We do have funds left, and we will (as we have been from the start) be very careful and selective on what to spend them on, to make them last as long as possible. 💪🏻

🐚 So - what is our strategy for surviving these challenging times? Well, our goal of having our own marketplace (where WE set the rules for royalties and take back control 👊🏻
is more important than ever. We’re working on making that happen. ✨
Other good news is that two of the most important things that the Web3 space means will be crucial for projects to survive this market are things that WoA have. 😇 The first thing is that the quality of the art will now be more important than even before. So we are very happy we spent so much time and effort on creating such a BEAUTIFUL collection that we can be proud of forever and ever. 🥰 The art of World of Alidia IS amazing, and will always be considered beautiful and relevant. 👌🏽
The other thing is the historic value: To be the first, the biggest (or even the worst 😂
of something will always be valuable from a collectors standpoint. And that we also have. We are one of the first NFT projects in Scandinavia and we´re also the first female focused and female led project here. 👯♀️ That will always carry value. In ten years from now - when Scandinavia is flooded with tens of thousands of NFT projects - collectors will always find value in the ones that were early in the game.
It´s the same with collectibles in the physical world; a beautiful piece of art will always have value, and if you’re the first of something that will also be very important. So keep HODL-ing your WoA´s, it will pay off! 😘

🐚 Another part of our surviving strategy is partnering with other quality projects. As we hinted in our last Monthly Roundup we were supposed to become a part of such a thing - where a couple of great projects would partner up to support and profit from each other in different ways. This was something we had all been working very hard on since before Christmas. BUT… After the OpenSea royalty news, this sadly fell apart. The project that was arranging this (an amazing project, and one of the biggest in the world 🥇
shut the partnership down. The struggle for EVERYONE - big AND small - is REAL out there. 😅
BUUUUT… Even though we are of course disappointed this is not going to happen, we are very happy that WoA was one of the few quality projects that were invited into this possible partnership. Another example of how the international NFT space view us. 🙏🏾🥰 AAAAAND… We are thinking that even if the partnership with this big project fell through - why not do it ourselves? 🙊
The idea that we’re stronger together is GREAT - and if we come together the idea is to have a shared Discord where we all migrate. All projects will have their own little space in there for announcements etc, but most of the channels will be shared. That way we can create one bigger community instead of many small ones. We who run the projects can help each other in everything from moderating to collabs of different kinds, you as a community will have more interesting members to hang out and network/connect with, more members to take part in book clubs, game nights etc - and we might also help each other in sharing utilities, letting our members take part in each other’s workshops/other arrangements or offers.

🌟 Ensuring a strong and loyal community that believes in the project, believes in us and will HODL with us until the market improves. Me, Amanda, Stephanie and Niklas will do everything we can to keep you all engaged and believing in WoA longterm. 💓💪🏻
🌟 Ensuring transparency at a high level. As of next week we will be posting our weekly team meeting minutes/summary in the Discord for all to see, including the highlights of what was discussed and any decisions we are considering. ✨
🌟 Maintaining our presence in the Discord as often as possible, continuing to seek out fun opportunities for games and activities, and valuable collabs with other web3 brands. 🫶🏽
🌟 Maintaining a healthy floor price and continued slow, but steady minting/onboarding of new holders. In this area we have a new secondary/minting campaign coming soon that we hope will interest you. More on that soon! 👀
