But the difference is more between the respective cultures than the two words, isn't it?
As with words for physical or mental disability, every new and less offensive word for female anatomy gradually takes on the negativity of the last one — that is, it comes to reveal true underlying feelings or insecurities, etc, about whatever the word describes.

cunt IMO.
Cunt (with affectionate diminutive variations like cunny) goes back at least a couple of hundred years, but in the 1960s and 1970s it gained temporary acceptability when second-wave feminists embraced it in a frank, positive spirit.
In terms of attitude, it means whatever people use it to mean.
