Intressant nog så visas en VLF-antenn (frekvensband som mest används för kommunikation med ubåtar). Kan man kommunicera med ubåtar, mintorpeder etc?

Nei, det ser ut at det er en del av egenbeskyttelse mot missiler.
The MFS-EW is made up of many systems, spread across the Gripen’s upper and lower fuselages. Installed on the former there are three MAWSUs (missile approach warning sensor units – Elisra PAWS-2s); one EWCU(electronic warfare central unit); two PPUs (primary power units); one NGIR (next-generation infrared missile approach warning processor).
Additionally, there is a TFA (transmitter forward/aft, installed in the vertical stabilizer, in low band, to perform jamming against adversary sensors located in the frontal and rear hemispheres, respectively) and three BOP-G chaff/flare dispensers on the aft fuselage.
Finally, there are two RPSs (receiver and power supply units) and four QRTs (quadrant and receiver transmitters), in medium bands, installed on the Gripen’s wingtip rails, to execute jamming against adversary sensors located in both sides.
The BOP-G chaff/flare dispensers can eject various countermeasures, ranging from the BriteCloud active decoys to BOL Mk 2 Type 1 chaffs, as well as the BOL-IR MJU-52/B and L5A2 flares.
Of these, the MAWSUs, as the name implies, detect approaching missiles, whilst the NGIRs do the same with heat-seeking missiles.
The aircraft’s lower fuselage houses three more MAWSUs; two interface units; a VLBA (very low band antenna); two BOL 739/3 chaff/flare dispensers, installed in the aft section of the underwing internal weapons pylons and two BOL 739/2 chaff/flare dispensers, mounted in the aft section of the underwing external weapons pylons. All the systems noted are managed by the EWCU and fed by the primary power units.
