“IS understands the mindset of Arabs, and they exploit it,” she said.
“I have no recollection of protests in Arab streets when Saddam Hussein bombed Halabja and there is no response now, when ISIS is shelling Kobane and killing Kurds,” she said.

Fluid and decentralized command control structure
IS does not have permanent and centralized command and control structure in the traditional sense of warfare. Unlike contemporary armies of the world, IS doesn’t make sharp distinctions between strategic, operative and tactical levels. In their traditional warfare, tactical achievements is the way to achieve strategic objectives. For IS, the basic goal is to score tactical successes and expand on them step by step. Deviating from the traditional approach, what IS fields is a bottom-up command structure focused on a fast pace for small military achievements. At the moment, US-led airstrikes have been mostly against IS communication and training facilities. It is extraordinary that there is not a single control facility that has been hit by allied airstrikes.

36 people from Kobani released, 149 still kept hostage
Urfa, Turkey: 36 of the people from Kobani who crossed the border 9 days ago under the authorization of Turkish officials and who were later kept hostage by the authorities, have been released today. The released, most of whom are children and women, have been taken to the disaster tents established by the state institution, AFAD. Hundreds of people from Kobani, mainly children, women and the elderly, crossed the border at Mursitpinar on 6 October after the clashes in Kobani intensified. Today 36 of these people, mainly women, children and their first degree relatives, have been released following days-long negotiations with the government authorities and taken to the AFAD tents located in the Aligör neighbourhood of Suruç. 149 people from Kobani are still being kept hostage in the Suruç Sports hall. The Urfa Bar Association and the deputies of HDP are keeping in touch and carrying on negotiations with the local and governmental authorities for the release of the other hostages. The members of the Urfa bar held a meeting with the Suruç district governor, but were told that the office to speak to was the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The governor said that they will act in accordance with the orders they receive from the ministry. Lawyers and HDP deputies stated that they will continue their contacts for the release of the hostages. In the meantime, 64 of the hostages were deported early yesterday morning on the orders of the government and were sent to Kobani where clashes have intensified...firatnews.com

Citat:
The pro-AKP media relentlessly tries to put a positive spin on Erdogan's unfortunate moments. The latest example is Erdogan's speech at the UN General Assembly in September. Only a handful of delegates was left in the large hall when Erdogan spoke and all major international news networks shared this image. However, the pro-AKP media skillfully cropped the image to make it look like Erdogan addressed an audience larger than it was in reality.
Citat:
It appears, however, that Erdogan’s men have almost given up on sustaining his popularity abroad. After all, it may be easier to blame it all on the “envy lobby” — those mysterious powers working to tarnish Erdogan’s reputation because they do not wish to see Turkey achieve its potential.

This mean if Kobani was captured it would link ISIS Raqqa to its training camps in Istanbul.
