Syrian Army Launches Assault in Quneitra, Frees Several Key Regions

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops, backed up by artillery units, kicked off a large-scale anti-terrorism operation from several flanks in the Death Triangle in Northwestern Dara'a and Quneitra on Sunday, imposing control over a number of key points.

The army's artillery units pounded terrorists' positions in the townships of al-Tiheh, Kafr Nasej, Aqraba, al-Mall, Tal al-Mall, Masraha and the nearby hills.

The army men, supported by artillery fire, engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorists and seized control over Masraha and several points near the township in Central part of Quneitra province.
Local sources said that terrorist front in Quneitra is collapsing following the army advances in the Southern parts of the country.

The sources further said that the army is now inching closer to the Israeli-occupied Golan following its advances in Quneitra.

More Tribes Voice Support for Syrian Army in Militant-Held Regions

TEHRAN (FNA)- Different tribes in Hasaka province in Northeastern Syria, in a meeting on Sunday, declared their full backup for the Syrian Army, calling on the government forces to free the entire terrorist-held regions across the war-hit country.

Syria's state news agency, SANA, reported that elites of tribes and villages in Hasaka province held a meeting in the village of Jarmaz near the border town of Qamishli in Northern Hasaka, declaring support for the army to end militancy across the country

SANA further said that the tribes underlined Syria's integrity and sovereignty from al-Malekiyeh in the North up to Dara'a in the South, adding that the tribal fighters intend to join the army's anti-terrorism campaign.
The participants in the meeting underscored that the army should be the only armed force in Hasaka and all other groups are to be disarmed.

SANA reported earlier this month that a sum of 55 Arab and Kurdish tribes in Aleppo province renewed their allegiance to the Syrian Army troops to force foreign occupiers to exit the region as the US and Turkish troops continue military presence in the Northern and Northeastern parts of the war-hit country.

It reported that a sum of 55 Arab and Kurdish tribes of Aleppo province, in a meeting at the time, underscored their support for the army to expel foreign forces that are in Syria without Damascus' permit.

The elites of the tribes stressed Syria's integrity and people's unity, adding that the tribes stay shoulder to shoulder with the army to expel Turkish, American and French forces from their country.
In the meantime, the Kurdish tribes in Aleppo and its outskirts provided support for the army and condemned any meddling in Syria's internal affairs and disintegration of the war-hit country.
