Vad vet vi om Anders Breivik? [Sammanfogad tråd/mod]

Så har den kommit – «icke fiktiva berättelsen» om 22 juli 2011. Skriven av den franske författaren Laurent Obertone, via Anders Behring Breiviks huvud.

- Jag blir besatt av ön i det ögonblick jag sätter foten på kajen.

Från första meningen är Obertone besatt av Breivik. Han är Breivik, och inte bara tänker som honom. Han «tar ut Glocken, och siktar».

I de första 126 sidorna utför han tillsammans med Breivik 69 mord på Utøya. I resten av «berättelsen» tecknar och förklarar Obertone-Breivik hur och varför, blandat med citat från överlevande, polis och experter.

Laurent Obertone är bara en pseudonym. Han fick hotelser efter sin förra bok, «France – A Clockwork Orange», en brandfackla om ökande våld i Frankrike. Särskilt efter att extremhögerns Marine Le Pen tryckte den till sitt bröst.

The Anders Behring Breivik Trial: Performing Justice, Defending Democracy

On 24 August 2012, the judges of the Oslo District Court passed their final verdict in the case of Anders Behring Breivik, declaring Breivik criminally sane and legally responsible for the killing of 77 people during the bombing of government buildings in Oslo and the shooting spree on the island of Utøya on 22 July 2011. This ICCT – The Hague Research Paper examines to what extent the Breivik trial attained the goals of criminal justice: retribution, prevention, restoring democratic order and upholding the rule of law. Furthermore, it aims to determine if the trial contributed to the need for closure in society. The paper concludes that the trial did indeed have a positive impact on the coping mechanisms in Norwegian society and that most Norwegians viewed the trial as a positive counter-weight to the brutality of Breivik’s acts. Overall, the trial was viewed as an example of justice and as a trial that upheld the democratic values of Norwegian society – in stark contrast to Breivik’s values.

In their introduction they state the trial upheld the democratic values of Norwegian society – in stark contrast to Breivik’s values. The tone is set with this statement, it should be self-evident that nowadays all it takes for a nation to be democratic is for it to proclaim that, it is in fact, democratic. Iran uses this strategy with great success.

The researchers claim that the trial creates a unique opportunity to bring several parties together: terrorists, state representatives, the judiciary, the audience, surviving victims, terrorist sympathizers, etc. However, they fail to mention that sympathizers were barred from the courts, nor do they mention that Breivik and many of his witnesses were not televised whenever they took the stand. All that the people watching from their TVs saw was Breivik making his “far-right” salute, sobbing witnesses, psychiatrists explaining how Breivik is sick in the head, and ‘experts’ who make a living by stringing politically correct half-truths together.

KrF-leder Knut Arild Hareide, som også er medlem av 22. juli-komiteen reagerer kraftig på plakatene som er hengt opp. Han mener personene bak må være i sterk ubalanse.

- Det er et grusomt å løfte opp og spre budskapet til en terrorist på denne måten. Det går mennesker rundt i byen som har fått livet sitt forandret og traumatisert etter 22. juli. At disse kan møte på et slikt budskap er forferdelig, sier Hareide.
