Tepco håller presskonferens mitt i natten (!). Inget på NHK än. Detta från Reuters Blog. Ursäkta den dåliga källan. Jag borde vänta tills mer officiella rapporter kommer, men, men:
"The 4 a.m. TEPCo news conference information - in response to reporters' questions, and as translated by 'katz' - is that the atmospheric radiation in or around Unit 3 (where the workers are in its turbine building?) is at 0.5 millisieverts/hour, but that the surface of the six inches of water in the turbine building was measured to be 400 millisieverts/hour. The three workers were in that water - which was not there the day before - for about 40-50 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and noon on Thursday, when they were connecting power in the turbine building. One worker wore boots, two did not. All three are licensed radiation engineers, one with 4 years, one with 11 years, and one with 14 years of experience. Not all are direct TEPCo employees, but work for partner companies or contractors. Also, the radioactive components in the water seem to be 10,000 times higher than would be expected from normal operations - indicating a fuel rod source (core or spent fuel pool) for the contamination. The actual source is unknown by TEPCo. Still no word, that I've heard, on the status of any spare parts needed ASAP before a restoration of core cooling at Units 1-3 can begin. [If we now know the precise temperature of the SFP in Unit 4, that seems to indicate that some measuring devices are working again, thanks to the restoration of power.]

Kyodos version av presskonferensen:

Water which three workers were exposed to at the crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant contained radioactive materials 10,000 times the normal level, plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Friday.
The finding underlines the possibility that part of the fuel in the No. 3 reactor of the plant or the spent fuel stored in the pool in the reactor building may be damaged.
The three, who are from a company cooperating with TEPCO, were involved in work to restore power to the No. 3 reactor, which has lost cooling function. They were working in the basement of the reactor's turbine building when they were irradiated.
Two of the three have been hospitalized due to possible burns caused by beta rays which can cause major skin damage. They were not wearing boots at the time and therefore their feet were soaked in the water.
TEPCO said almost no water was present during an on-site inspection the previous day and also that the level of radiation was low during the inspection.
''Because of this, the workers were believed to have continued their work even after their dosimeters' alarm went off, assuming a problem with the machine,'' a TEPCO official said.
TEPCO plans to strictly re-enforce the rule of evacuating the site whenever the dosimeter's alarm goes off.
The two hospitalized workers will be transferred later Friday to the National Institute of Radiological Sciences in Chiba City for closer examination from Fukushima Medical University hospital.

Och så här skriver Tepco i sin seanste pressrelease:
Citat:
On March 24th, it was confirmed that 3 workers from cooperative
companies who were in charge of cable laying work in the 1st floor and
the underground floor of turbine building were exposed to the radiation
dose of more than 170 mSv. 2 of them were confirmed that their leg skin
were contaminated. Although they were decontaminated, since it is
judged that there is possibility of beta ray burn injury, they were
transferred to Fukushima Medical University Hospital. After medical
examination at Fukushima Medical University Hospital, they will be
transferred to National Institute of Radiological Sciences in Chiba
Prefecture today (March 25) and stay for around four days to survey
the situation. Inspection result of the water that the workers stepped
in will be announced when it is reported.
