Kommentarer?
Interrogation of Ebbe Carlsson by Ingemar Krusell, Riberdahl and others Q9858-6, 1988-06-21
• EB became interested in “the PKK track” by reading newspapers and from talking to Hans Holmér.
• It’s obvious that Iran supports the set up of a Kurdish state by using territory in Iraq and Turkey.
• P O Karlsson was present at the Bani Sadr meeting on 880404
• Bani Sadr thought that Iran killed Palme without involving PKK
• EB names the journalist Taheri as an important source. EB is surprised that Bani Sadr claims that Taheri is a CIA agent.
• Sweden (MoFA/UD) presents Palme’s relation to Iran as good but facts show the opposite, particularly due to the arms trade. For example, Palme refused in December 1985 when Iran asked for Swedish high-tech. Also Palme’s involvement as negotiator was seen as negative since Iran saw the war as a holy war and saw no need for mediation.
• During the summer 1985, the arms dealer Karl-Erik Schmitz wrote to Iran about the difficulties to get approval from the Swedish gvt for gun powder [krut] deliveries.
• Palme responded to Iraq that he tried to stop arms deliveries to Iran.
• Documents from MoFA/UD and Palme’s own notes show that Palme had a “general knowledge” about the arms trade and that he was very worried. Even on his last day in life, he had promised the Iraqi ambassador to do what he could to stop the arms sales to Iran.
• MoFA/UD correspondence/douments show that Iran could not understand why Sweden could not continue export arms to Iran.
• EB believed that it took a long time between the decision to murder Palme and the murder itself. Palme was seen as a threat to Iran’s holy war.
• Sweden played an important role for Iran’s arms purchases, not the least through K-E Schmitz who delivered also from other countries
• Iran supported PKK’s war aiming at creating a Kurdish state in Iraq and Turkey
• EB believed that arms dealers informed Iran about the difficulties in buying arms from Sweden
• EB does not think that the French consortium [SOFMA] killed Palme out of deception or of revenge for not having won the India order
• Syria “threw out” PKK since they didn’t want a Kurdish state
• EB knew about “Vilderim’s” strolls on Västerlånggatan [where the Palme’s lived]. EB found the information in “the diary”. [what is this about?] EB indicates that the sec police/SÄK/Säpo may have had surveillance on PKK and that information from this had not been given to neither the prosecutor, nor the police.
• EB knows nothing about whether PKK agents were close to Grand and the murder scene.
• EB knows nothing about the information, allegedly from MI6, saying that South Africa was involved in the murder
• EB claimed that foreign intelligence services warned Sweden for having become a nest for terrorists and to watch out. The CIA warned Sweden in 1987.
• Palme felt threatened by Ustasha.
• EB talked to Sven-Åke Hjälmroth (the head of the sec police/SÄK/Säpo) the day before the murder. Then SÅH said: “We have a hell of a problem with the kurds, they are scary guys and they have said in a phone call that they will attend a wedding which means murder and we can’t figure out what it means”
• Holmer asked EB to get information about Palme’s private life. EB knew that Palme had other women but that he had no intention to leave his wife. His wife Lisbet didn’t know.
• Palme had a special relationship to Emma Rotschildt. An intellectual relationship and possibly a sexual one. Emma brought him into circles that he wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Emma R had an apartment in Gamla Stan [the same neighbourhood as Palme]
• Palme sometimes came to meetings with women. During his travels, he was approached [by women] and he didn’t always resist. EB didn’t know if Palmes promiscuous life disturbed them [the family?].
• EB wonders how the murderers could know about the cinema visit.
• EB had a thought – a speculation that he didn’t want to articulate – but he says that Emma Rotschild and Palme had a crazy impulsive intellectual relation. They had extremely intensive feelings for each other. Emma R is said to still have a relation to the family Palme. [EB seems to think that the murder had nothing to do with Emma R but he appears to not be totally convinced.]
