Jaha bara Exxon går många miljarder dollar per år i vinst. Har de problem med att anlita forskare menar du?
Jag tror på att oljebolagen konspirerar mot oss, helt övertygad.
Varför skulle de vara så dumma?
Exxon mobile: "The risk of climate change is clear and the risk warrants action. Increasing carbon emissions in the atmosphere are having a warming effect. There is a broad scientific and policy consensus that action must be taken to further quantify and assess the risks."
Shell: "We recognise the significance of climate change, along with the role energy plays in helping people achieve and maintain a good quality of life. A key role for society – and for Shell – is to find ways to provide much more energy with less carbon dioxide."
BP: "Why are oil and gas companies calling for more action on climate change? This year many of us have increased our advocacy on this issue. And last month, companies responsible for a fifth of the world’s oil and gas supply in the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) threw their support behind a new global agreement at the forthcoming UN talks in Paris. For oil and gas companies to take such a stance has been described as ‘unusual’ - and even ‘unprecedented’. However, in fact, in BP we have publicly acknowledged the risk and have been working to address it since the 1990s."
Statoil: "Statoil acknowledges the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC’s) scientific consensus of the influence human activities have on inducing climate change. Statoil aims to be a part of a global energy transformation and continue to turn natural resources into energy for people and progress for society."
Gazprom: "Gazprom is recognized the best Russian energy company in the climate performance index of Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). The index revealed Gazprom's high performance in climate change reduction. The Company is committed to lessening the greenhouse gas emissions, managing climate change risks as well as promoting the transparency of information in this area."
Total: "Total’s ambition is to become the responsible energy major, providing reliable and clean energy to as many people as possible. Our focus on climate concerns is integral to our strategy. We have singled out five drivers to tackle climate issues: enhancing energy efficiency, growing in natural gas, stepping up our low-carbon electricity activities, promoting sustainable biofuels and investing in carbon storage."
