Macchiarini använder sig ju också av detta förhållande när han intervjuas av den ryska tidningen som finns i sign. quark's länk ovan... där säger Macchiarini;
Sett ur det perspektivet så kanske Macchiarinioperationerna kommer att hamna i en av Anders Jallai's böcker så småningom, eftersom han skriver mycket om ryska kopplingar som det inte gärna talas högt om...

Nu är ju inte Macchiarini's ord något att lita på, men det ryska projektet finns ju uppspaltat på projektets ryska hemsida fortfarande, och pågår väl uppenbarligen fortfarande;
First of all, everyone should know that we have been approved by the Ethics Committee of the University and the clinic before the operation in accordance with the Russian laws. Minutes transplantation, in which including defined criteria for inclusion in the clinical trial, adopted by these bodies. Yes, the patient did not have cancer, her trachea suffered in the accident, but one of the patients operated on in Sweden, too, did not have cancer. Each case is discussed at multidisciplinary meetings more than once, including from a psychological point of view: if the patient is able to understand the essence of the method, the possible complications, how to behave ...

September 21, 2011 - According to the results of the second open contest of the Grant Council of the Government of the Russian Federation, Kuban state medical University and Professor of Karolinska Institute (Sweden) Paolo Macchiarini won the Grant “"Investigating the molecular mechanisms and underlying pathways of regenerative medicine approaches the tissue-engineering and cell therapy of airways and lungs".
October 28, 2011 – Establishment of the International Scientific-Research Clinical and Educational Centre of Regenerative Medicine.
October - November 2011 – competitive selection of students, interns, residents, postgraduate students and young scientists for the position of a member of the grant research team.
December 2011 – February 2012 – The first stage of training of young specialists from KSMU. Trainings at FMBC named after Burnazyan, Insistute of Cytology RAS and Human Stem Cells Institute.
February 16, 2012 - The first international video conference on regenerative medicine headed by the leading scientist professor Paolo Macchiarini took place in Clinical Regional Hospital after prof. Ochapovsky with the participation of Russian and foreign hospitals: Stockholm – Huston – Krasnodar – Florence – Moscow. The patients with diseases of upper airways were discussed during this online conference.
February 2012 - October 2012 – Purchase of equipment and equipage of the Center of regenerative medicine, KSMU.
April 2012 – September 2012 – the second stage of training of the young specialists from KSMU at Karolinska Institute (Sweden) and Biotransplantation Center of Carreggi University Hospital, Florence (Italy).
May 2012 – consultation and observation of patients-candidates for transplantation in Krasnodar regional clinical hospital.
June 19, 21, 2012 – The world first laryngo-tracheal transplantations were carried out at the Regional Clinical Hospital in the frames of the Grant. Scaffolds were created from a nanocomposite material, seeded with the patients’ own cells, isolated from the bone marrow. Paolo Maccharini, Regenerative surgery professor of Karolinska Institute, led an international team including Prof. Vladimir PORKHANOV, head of the oncological and thoracic department of Kuban State Medical University (Russia), RAMS corresponding member. All the preparations for this transplantation took more than half a year.
August 2012 – March 2013 – Implementation of individual research projects by the young specialists from KSMU at the basis of Karolinska Institute in the frames of the Grant research program.
November 7, 2012 - An official opening of the Regenerative medicine center took place at KSMU. Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Igor Kagramanyan took part in the solemn ceremony. The Center of Regenerative medicine of KSMU was built and equipped in unbelievably short terms – it took less than a year. Today this laboratory is one of the best not only in Russia, but in Europe as well. “Even my laboratory at Karolinska Institute is worse in a number of respects”, - said Professor Macchiarini to the journalists.
March 2013 – The unique equipment has been installed and launched at the Center of regenerative medicine: ORCA (Organ Regeneration Collection Analysis) Bioreactor for work with isolated organs of small and large animals. This system was specially designed for research in the sphere of regenerative medicine, for organs decellularization and recellularization. Harvard Biosciences company specialists – producers of the equipment - trained the specialists from the Center of regenerative medicine.
March 6-7, 2013 - First rat heartlung decellularization in Russia.
March 30, April 15, 2013 – Negotiations with Polymer materials laboratory of NBIC-Centre of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute” concerning long-term collaboration. Joint research implementation, biomechanical testing of diaphragm, lungs, heart decellularized matrices started.
March 2013 – December 2013 – Personal research projects implementation by the young scientists from KSMU at the basis of the Center of regenerative medicine, KSMU
April 9, 2013 - A bioengineered trachea created with the use of regenerative medicine approaches was used to save life of a two-year old child for the first time in the world. The transplantation was performed by the Megagrant leading scientist Professor Paolo Macchiarini. The young specialists from KSMU also took part in this project.
May - June 2013 – Consultation and examination of patients-candidates for transplantation at Krasnodar regional clinical hospital N1.
July 2013 –Negotiations on collaboration with the Research Center of Primatology of RAMS
August 2013 – Business-trip of the members of the grant research team to the Institute of Primatology of RAMS, commencement of works with primates.
August 8,9 2013 - Bioengineered trachea transplantations, created on the basis of nanocomposite scaffold, seeded with patients’ own cells isolated from bone marrow, were carried out in the frames of the grant at the Regional clinical hospital. The surgery was performed by the Grant leading scientist, Professor Paolo Macchiarini, the head of the oncology and thoracic surgery department, RAMS corresponding member V.A.Porkhanov, Regional clinical hospital head doctor deputy I.S.Polyakov. Trachea preparation and seeding were performed by the Grant researchers.
October 14, 2013 - In vivo implantation of the part of tissueengineering diaphragm to the rat.
