Fighting north of Aleppo has continued after the government’s surprise offensive yesterday:

The government forces, which include a heavy presence from Iranian and Afghan militias, appear to have lost most of the gains they made early in the offensive.
The offensive south to relieve pressure on the towns of al-Zahraa and Nubbol and cut the last rebel supply routes into the city. Some SAA forces managed to make it into the 2 towns.
Both sides have taken heavy casualties, although it appears that the government has taken significantly more.
There was fighting around Handarat camp, the al-Mallah farms, Duwayr al-Zaytoun, Bayanoun, Rityan, and Bashakuy:

Artillery shelling hit Hayyan, Andan and Bayanoun.
Airstrikes hit Misqan, Hardatnin, and Mu’arrasat al-Khan.
Rebels recaptured Dwer al-Zaytoun, Hardatnin, and advanced in the al-Mallah farms.
Government forces still hold Bashkakuy and Duwayr al-Zaytoun.
Government casualties:
I don’t have figures for the number of people killed today, an the overall numbers are still widely varied.
Rebels captured a T-72 near Hardatnin.
2 tanks were destroyed and 2 were captured at the al-Mallah front.
Rityan:
Around 40 pro-government fighters were captured.
3 officers from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were reported to have been captured.
6 pro-government fighters were captured as they attempted to retreat to al-Zahraa.
6 pro-government fighters were killed as they attempted to retreat.
Rebel casualties:
