While there is no official data on sex tourism, there is also no shortage of anecdotal evidence that it is happening, and officials and residents agree it could grow if left unchecked.
A joint study, published in 2005 by the Cape Verdian Institute for Minors and the Committee for Coordination and Combating AIDS (CCS), related several incidents in which minors had been abused by male tourists in Santa Maria, the Cape Verdian capital, Praia, and Mindelo, on the island of Sao Vicente. In some cases, tourists had asked children to find them under-age girls for sex.

Artikeln beskriver ju att det INTE handlar om att åka över och köpa sex, utan snarare om bekräftelse behov.

This "Documentary" did not at all address the issues that the Title refers to! Put down the camera and go back to School and learn what true objective Journalism Reporting is about!

Didn't enjoy this documentary at all. The description is misleading. The subject of male prostitution or sex tourism is only just touched upon briefly. I only got about halfway through before I decided to quit watching, I was interested in the topic of white women visiting Jamaica for sex tourism purposes but this documentary isn't really about that at all.
Waste of time.

So, I watched this documentary. First of all, this documentary barely devotes 10 minutes to the concept of sexual exploitation. The majority of the interviews revolve around Rasta communities expounding on their views both personal and communal. NONE of the Rastas are prostituting themselves. The so-called 'white' women who are hiring these men out are never interviewed in person and all the snapshots of the women are women in passing. These could be lesbians on a retreat but they're depicted in this video. Tying in prostitution with slavery doesn't work in this context. In slavery, people were brow-beaten to believe they were 'owned' and those who were sexually exploitated had no say in the matter where these men are pimping themselves. One line in the documentary resonated when it said 'Women who would never approach a black homeless man in their hometown' but these women are not walking Kingston streets they are trolling resort areas for men who willingly fuck them for one week's pay for a few hours of time. I just don't think that the issue wasn't addressed well in this documentary. I think the title of it is disrespectful to the Rastafarians interviewed who adamantly oppose such 'Babylon' ways and the editing was poor. But that's my opinion on the work

Står en hel del nyttigt här

Hur kan feminism gå hand i hand med sexköp?
Ja intressant källa som anger följande om fenomenet;
Female sex tourists have been
notoriously difficult to find and interview on the record (see de Albuquerque, 1998, in "Major academic publications" subheading, below). T
hus some observers have turned to film and fiction to examine the motivations of women who travel for sex, love and affection.
Man vänder sig till fiktionens värld för att undersöka fenomenet således - lustigt att det inte behövs när det gäller män. Kan det bero på att män är så mycket talrikare....
