Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukrainas talesperson för mänskliga rättigheter, har helt plötsligt blivit avskedad. Hon har gjort sig känd för att anklagat ryska soldater för utbrett sexuellt våld mot ukrainska kvinnor och unga flickor och pojkar. Frolov said in a Facebook post announcing her dismissal as the country's top human rights investigator:
"The unclear focus of the Ombudsman's media work on the numerous details of ‘sexual crimes committed in an unnatural way’ and ‘rape of children’ in the occupied territories that could not be confirmed by evidence, only harmed Ukraine."

Folks, this is what it looks like when an attack is smashed at the line of departure.
The Ukrainians appear to have committed 2-3 combat-ready brigades to an offensive whose success thus far can be measured in terms of individual farmers' fields.
Judging by what I've seen thus far the Ukrainians attacked without suppressing Russian artillery and reconnaissance assets, were mauled by counterpreparation fires prior to attacking, and have struggled to even push in screening forces positioned along the river itself.
Given the open terrain and Russian superiority in aerial and artillery systems this bridgehead - and the approaches to it - is turning into a shooting gallery.
Remarkably little direct-fire combat has taken place thus far, at least as far as I've seen.
I'm unsure as to whether the Russian main defensive line (MDL), which is presumably positioned some distance back from the river to provide depth, has even made contact yet.
