Because the government and those surrounding it in terms of the coronavirus strategy are either criminally incompetent or brutally naive. There’s a reason behind the actions of other countries, obvious enough for even those who lack an IQ in the triple digits to understand. Situations like this will happen and continue to happen if lines in the sand are not drawn.
People, as a whole, are woefully idiotic. Even more so when almost an entire year has been spent pumping misinformation into them from government sources.
Thousands have died and will likely continue to die into the tens of thousands so that the population at large could go on skiing trips, travel to their summerhouses, have a pint or two every weekend and pack shopping malls. All while the government has whispered in their ear that it’s over now, or it will be over soon. That they are immune or that the virus isn’t going to harm them or others as long as they wash their hands.
That this is a great lie is something many in this thread have a hard time grappling, mostly because they are either unintelligent or because they would rather not feel a burden of shame for such a large magnitude of deaths and chronic sufferers, or for the slow collapse of a strained hospital system that only furthers human suffering, whether infected or not. This is because at their core, they don’t want to give up the small joys of shopping, skiing, summer-homes and drinking. They would rather that tens of thousands of their fellow countrymen die before considering such.
The same applies for everybody in those malls. It’s a selfish society rife with emotional disconnect, and any doctor that cannot see or believe that a selfish society without regulation will continue to be selfish is either braindead or implicit. I agree with you.
