Iranian Speaker Raps West for Double-Standards on Terrorism, Human Rights
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani lashed out at the US and other western states for their biased policies towards terrorism, human rights and other important issues in different world countries.
Speaking in a Monday meeting with visiting Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal in Tehran, the top Iranian lawmaker further slammed certain western governments for adopting double standards in dealing with important issues such as fighting terrorism, narcotics, human rights and foreign occupation, saying those who created Takfiri terrorism and provided arms and weapons to terror groups should now take responsibility for their wrong policies.
"The human rights have turned into a tool by certain governments for undermining global peace and security," Larijani said.
The Iranian parliament speaker reiterated that now that criminal acts of terrorist groups have endangered their allies, global efforts to destroy them have intensified.
The Algerian prime minister, for his part, slammed the West's support for terrorist groups in the region, and said, "We are witnessing war and conflict in Syria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen."
Sellal, meantime, said that the ISIL is seeking to tarnish the global image of Islam and the leaders of the Muslim countries have to exercise vigilance and refrain from internal conflicts.
