This is your life
We all want to be happy, don't we? We all want a meaningful existence.
We all want to feel connected to someone, to something. We all want to
share out lives with loved ones. We want to live with freedom to do
what we want. Since your birth, you have picked up habitual ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. Many of these habits imprison you in
unhappiness, lonliness, self-doubt, self-pity, fear and hatred. These, in turn affect your health, your relationships and your life.
At some point in the past, you were pt upon this earth. You were born. At some point in the future, you will be taken from this earth. You will die. Maybe you'll go to heaven, maybe you'll be reborn in a new life or maybe there's nothing after this life.
Regardless, the clock is ticking. Every moment that passes you cannot have back. You have a certain amount of time in the life that you are living now. This life will involve many moments of triumph and delight, sadness and despair. It will lead you into dark times and out to bright days. You will encounter opportunities and problems. This is your life.
You will meet certain characters along the way. These characters will be around you at different times. You will have those that love you, those that like you, and those that don't like you and those that don't care about you. Sometimes they will treat you well and sometimes they will treat you badly. Sometimes they will enter your life and someitmes they will leave. Sometimes they will be the object of your uncontrollable, undying love and sometimes the source of your devastatingly cruel heartbreak. This is your life.
you will experience many events during your time here. Some will be good and some will be bad. All will teach you. You will forget many things. Some will be important, some will not. Sometimes you will fail. Sometimes you will succeed. Some people will be born with fortune, some without. You will have moments of hope and bliss and moments of disappointments and devastation. This is your life.
These stand as inevitable truths of life. While you live on this planet, you have one major choice. This choice comes down simply to this: How do you want to live?
Some live free, some don't. To me, living free means living happily, living successful, connecting wonderfully with others in the world and making a real difference in the world. To me, being happy is about regularly creating in ourselves, good feelings so that we can enjoy what we do more and think in more positive and useful ways.
To me, being successful is about achieving whatever the goals are that we set for ourselves whether they be material, spiritual or simply living a better life. To me, connecting wonderfully with others is about manifesting relationships and friendships with those around us and helping them feel happy and be successful too. To me, making a real difference in the world is about creating, developing, improving or refining something which will alter the world in a positive way.
The truth of life will occur over and over again for everyone the same way. The real question is, again: How will you live? Up to the very moment that you read this very sentance, how have oyu been living? Have you been feeling happy and cheerful most of the time? Have you been doing what you want to do in a way that you enjoy? Have you made meaningful relationships and connections with people? Have you made a real difference to the world around you?
Human beings have achieved miracles. Consider all the inventions over the centuries. We started with just natural resources and now we have built a virtual world. We have accomplished immense creation with the barest essentials. You just have to really stop and become aware of all of the things that we can do now that we could not 150 years ago.
All of these amazing inventions started out in the minds of human beings. Yet the one machine that we have, as yet, failed to master, is our own minds. All progress of mankind is based upon fulfilling our needs and focuses on making us happier and more successful. The kind of progress we offer here is progress inherent in learning to master our minds.
We all want freedom fom our problems. We all want to feel and experience love that lasts unconditionally and for ever. We all want to live life as well as we can and be as happy as well can.
You have the same number of problems in your life whether you are happy and content or sad and miserable. the difference is how free you are from being affected negatively by those problems. The types of people you meet are the same whether you are building relationships successfully or destroying relationships.
When you are spiritually delighted and free, there are still as many good and bad things happening in the world. Your choice is to be free in this world regardless of the circumstances or to be overwheamed by the problems and imprison yourself in the painful torture chamber of your own mind.
The source of human misery is the way we learned to limit ourselves through our minds. It is the way we have learned to think about and treat ourselves and other people. Becoming free from this misery involves taking charge of our own minds again and choosing joy over misery, freedom over the chains that limit us, and love over the hate and fear that suffocates us.
It is then that we will discover the true source of human joy.
