“Expect more crime, more kids using marijuana and pot for sale everywhere," Douglas County Sheriff David Weaver said in a 2012 statement opposing Amendment 64. "I think our entire state will pay the price."

Three months into Colorado's historic legal recreational marijuana sales, crime hasn't gone up in Denver, according to recent data released by the city.

Overall property crime in the first two months of 2014 fell by 14.6 percent in Denver compared to the same period of 2013. There wasn't as dramatic of a shift in overall violent crime rates for the same period, but they were still down by 2.4 percent.

Of course, correlation does not imply causation with this city crime data, but skyrocketing crime because of legalization has not materialized. Still, some say that it's simply too early to identify any trends from this data.

Police in East Texas have arrested a woman after she called them to complain about the quality of the marijuana she had purchased from a dealer.

When people buy marijuana from a store in Colorado, the ounce they can walk out the door with is fairly easy to measure. Not so when the pot is in concentrated form, perhaps baked into a cookie or brownie.

After months of uncertainty about marijuana and its tax potential, Colorado lawmakers start work Tuesday deciding how to spend pot taxes.

An estimate from the Colorado Department of Revenue showed that Colorado made some $4.1 million from medical and recreational pot taxes and fees in February. That's up from about $3.5 million in January, when retail sales began.

The suit maintains that Roseen's vehicle was subjected to multiple searches, including one conducted after another officer drove it to a nearby sheriff's station.
