A horrific stabbing took place on Fanny Blankers Koenlaan in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, this morning with several people injured and blood smeared over a police car, according to local authorities

Two people have been killed and two police officers injured following a stabbing at a house in the Netherlands.

Emergency services were called to Fanny Blankers Koenlaan in Hoofddorp this morning at around 6am following reports of an attack. Police cars and ambulances could be seen outside the property and large amounts of blood could be seen in the street. And police have now said that they found two people "who were involved in a violent incident" with both of them having died.

And the death of the second person is part of the investigation by the National Criminal Investigation Department. This means that the police's efforts may have played a role, but the Public Prosecution Service could not confirm this.

If the police have used force and people are seriously injured or die, it is standard procedure to involve the National Criminal Investigation Department.

A police spokesperson also said that "our deployment played a role" in one of the deaths but they did not give any further details.

A local resident says he heard unrest in the building earlier in the night. "There was a fight in the house, but that was often the case there." According to him, the address was known as a nuisance location.

An emotional woman, who says she knows the victims by face, says: "There must have been a fight - it's bizarre that they're both lying in the house dead now. Of course strange things happened there, but you don't give this to anyone. Not even the officer. I heard he's in the hospital.”

Ricardo Sousa, another local resident, was awakened to a helicopter landing in the street. "You often hear helicopters here, but if one is in the middle of the street, it's different," Sousa said. He confirms that the house was known in the neighborhood. „A lot of young people walked in and out. There was regular drinking and there were more frequent quarrels.”

A man grumbles: „Hoofddorp goes all the way to hell because of violence and drugs. This is not the first incident.” The house where the drama took place is notorious in the neighborhood. Several residents talk about nuisance, young people on fatbikes and suspicions of drug trafficking.
