Its a piece of crap. Everyone loves shitting on the jav hats that all of the Russia tanks are wearing because they don't stop Javelins - but they're not designed too.
Those cages are designed to stop BILL derivative weapons, like the NLAW, that use a level flight, top attack profile. The cage is set at a BILL derivative's standoff height. This has the possibility of tricking the seeker into thinking that tank is much taller than it is, causing the weapon to fly at twice its standoff height and rendering it useless.
Even if the seeker isn't fooled, the weapon will still impact the cage itself. Because BILL derivative weapons cause an explosive jet to fire out below the weapon, if the weapon's orientation is messed up even slightly the jet will either miss or impact at a bad angle - again rendering it ineffective.
From what we've seen in Ukraine, jav hats are 100% effective against BILL derivative weapons, many of which just harmlessly overfly the tank. Overflown weapons don't damage the cage, so it continues to remain effective. The Ukrainians have responded to this by just not using BILL derivatives against jav hat equipped tanks.
That experience is why Germany recently decided to order a buttload of Javelins, which isn't affected due to its diving, top attack profile.
Neither Sweden nor the UK has the necessary technical sophistication to produce a diving, top attack profile weapon, so you'll likely see the NLAW either phased out or relegated to low priority units in a favor of Javelins over the next few years.
Honestly the ease with which the NLAW can be countered has been a well known issue with the weapon for a long time, and its abysmal performance in Ukraine vs. a cheap iron cage has turned it into a joke in serious military circles.
