Is anyone using interactive brokers to trade future and options derivatives? How do you pull the K4 form to avoid all those manual entries ? Any automation would be highly appreciated, do you hire an accounting firm instead? I got a price from delloite of approx 25k / year which is too much

Some brokerages have a excel form where all trades are shown you can ctrl + p (print) and attach it to the k4 form

Yes, unfortunately this is processed manually by the tax resident as long as you don't hold an account at CMC Markets, IG or Skilling. These brokers have an agreement with the Tax Authorities where the tax duties are processed automatically via a computer script. I am not sure however, if you are eligible for these accounts if you are not a citizen.

Have you read the double taxation treaty between Sweden and the country that holds your citizenship? In some cases it's sufficient to pay taxes only to the country that holds your citizenship. It all depends on the treaty.

For me personally (as a Swedish citizen) I hold my CFD-positions at IG and their scripts fill in the forms for me, and I pay 30 % capital gains tax. However, this is a fraction of the equity since most of it is placed in a capital endowment insurance account ("kapitalförsäkring"). This is a legal entity in a major bank subsidiary ("Pensionsbolaget") or the Pension Company. Using this legal setup (which most do) you are not levied a capital gains tax of 30 %, but instead the bank debits 1,25 % of the account value per year. No forms or K4:s to be filled in.

If you can't get your head around it all, why not fill them in as you trade? I remember the time before the scripts where I had about 3000 transactions to process. I sorted it out each weekend.
