I have been in deep sh** lately and need to pay things off quickly so I think a loan should help me finish payments and buy some gear to start working and pay back the loan .

My goal is 10,000kr loan to buy 6,000kr worth of gear and the rest of 4,000kr for unfinished small payments but I may not use the entire loan so it helps to pay it back.

I once heard somewhere that the CSN Loan can be taken only once, hence the title of this post.
Now if it's only one time time that you can take out loan then I'd have to strategize and plan things further since I may need another CSN loan in the future.
If this is all rubbish nonesense than I have been lied to and there's no need to be paranoid which i hope is the case. Thank you all.

TLDR; Is the CSN loan really only a one time thing? Once you take one small loan you cannot take another CSN loan later on?
Thanks.
Regards, Jakob D.

No, you can take CSN loans for a given number of semesters, 12 i think. Even then you can get extensions.

However, you need to be registrered at an abligible institution. The intrest is low, but not taxdeductable.

The CSN loan is not a one time thing.

However, you can't (well, it's not impossible, but almost) get a new CSN loan if you havn't repaid your earlier CSN loans: https://www.csn.se/fragor-och-svar/k...-aterkrav.html

If it's for studies, people usually take the CSN loans every month for all year.

They do provide specific loans for fixing your home when you have moved, or to pay s driver's licence under certain conditions.
But the monthly one at ~10.000 total you get when studying is the standard one.

There's an upper limit for taking that loan at a couple of years worth of post-gymnasial studies.
I think it would equal 5-7 years at university.

So technically, you can loan about half a million when studying at university, but it takes the same time to get it all.

Also, note that it's a fixed monthly sum of roughly 10 000 SEK. The only way to regulate how much you want to borrow is by applying for different periods of time. So it'll take you three months to get 30 000 SEK (as an example).

(To further shoot down the notion of "only once", when i studied i applied for (and got) CSN for a year at a time for three years, and then for two separate semesters, totalling five applications.)

EDIT:

This has already been said, but it's important: You will almost definitely have to pay back this first loan fully before they will grant you another one.

Thank you so much all, im both confused and well learned now.
I really simply just want a cool 10k to get out of this hell I'm in and get things going well and stable. Is it just possible to take out 10k and stop there? Do loans keep going monthly or I can actually request a sum like 10k and be on my way with no further mishaps? I can pay it pay it back before Q1 of next year so I'm gonna be working immediately with my new gear along with me studies and have no further payments on me left.

i suppose I'm for the standard 10k loan (I just want 10k, once and nothing else just 10k would do me well!) which I will immediately pay back when I can afford my new gear to work. as for my studies I am 18 in my last year of gymnasiet so I simply do not know how it will impact my university loans or any confusions that may come out. I'm just super paranoid and CSN's support is closed currently and I have a lot reading to do before taking the loan I just dont want it to interfere with my university loans even If I pay it back in time and make things really simple and clear with no confusions at all, I hope there's no "catch" or something that slips under when I take the 1 time 10k loan and get screwed somehow even If I payed it back and did everything properly.....

Ah, sounds perfectly doable to me. In your application you specify a period for which you would like a loan, which translates into a sum.

One more thing! If you're already studying, i think it'll be paid out ASAP. But if you're starting a course in say january, they won't actually send you any money until then, regardless of when you applied.

Alright that sounds great! I'll go ahead and begin a request for a one month 10k loan and it should come immediately as I am undergoing 3rd year of gymnasiet. thank you!

This might be a problem unless you're ALSO at the university; you need to be studying at university level (or be of a certain age, i think 20?) for the 10K. If you're in gymnasiet i think there's a different money pool with a lower payout per month... (i don't recall any details here, so i might have it wrong. + this was a while ago for me)

I actually did receieve 10k loan before by checking the loan box when requesting student aid(which I returned)by accident so I think it's possible
