Beginning of sorrows (födslovåndorna) är då alltså den tid som avses innan den stora nöden (the great tribulation) som bland annat beskrivs i närmare detalj i Uppenbarelseboken. I slutet av denna tid kommer Jesus att återkomma till jorden och ställa allt tillrätta.
