The adaptation of JK Rowling's first Strike book, The Cuckoo's Calling, will premiere on Sunday August 27 at 9.00pm on BBC1.
The second episode will air the following night at the same time, with the third and final part of the story broadcast on Sunday September 3.
The Silkworm, the first sequel to The Cuckoo's Calling, will then air in two parts on September 10 and 17.
While the third part of the story, The Career of Evil, has already been shot, it is thought that two-parter will air in 2018.
What is the Strike series all about?
The books follow the cases undertaken by private investigator Cormoran Strike and his assistant and secretary, Robin Ellacott.
Cormoran is in his late thirties, the illegitimate son of a former rock star and a former Special Investigation Branch investigator who was discharged from the army after losing half his leg in a bomb attack in Afghanistan.
He's now set up shop in Denmark Street and is running a small private detective agency, although not getting that much work until the events of the first book bring him recognition.
Cormoran takes on Robin as a temp but she impresses him and ends up working for him full-time.
In The Cuckoo's Calling, Cormoran is hired by the brother of a troubled model who has fallen to her death from a balcony in an exclusive area of London.
While it's presumed by most that the model took her own life, her brother isn't sure, and seeks Cormoran's help in finding out what really happened.
