Mac Book Pro retina (Battery problems)

Hey,



I bought my new MacBook Pro Retina 13 inches a little bit more than 1 month ago.
The battery runs like 4-5 h, without playing or doing heavy stuff, just browsing Facebook and Youtube.
Should I return it? They say the battery should normally last up to 12 h, and I read a lot of reviews where users use this Mac model for like 10-12 h with fairly high involving activity, not just Facebook and Youtube.

Kolla aktivitetskontrollen om det är någon process som flippat ur. Sedan beror det ju lite på hur du använder datorn med. En batterikalibrering kanske vore på plats med om du haft datorn ett tag.

Are you running el capitan? I noticed after the upgrade that my battery only last for like 4-5 hours compared to 7-8-9h on mavericks(didnt upgrade to yosemite). But yeah maybe you should return it?

Hey, I actually have no idea whether it's ''el capital'' or ''mavericks'', I have been using the PC they way I got it. I didn't do any exchange or upgrade to it

I really don't use any program or such. Just Safari with diverse page.

A remark:

I am recharging the battery as soon as it hits 20-30%, as I read online it's quite vital for the battery to avoid being empty completely. Could that actually be the problem?

Batteriet behöver köras hela cykler för att må bra. Gör det som en vana någon gång då och då, att tömma batteriet helt, eller nästan helt.

How do you know that the battery only lasts 4-5 hours when you start charging when it hit's 20-30% ? Drain the battery totally like every other months or so. That will calibrate the battery with the system. If that doesn't help, return the machine to the store.

by the time it reaches 30% it will have passed around 3 h.

then I assume 30% lasts for 1 or 2 h at max.

48% now at 21:35

23:43 my PC turned off, 0%.
The battery lasted 19:05-23:43, dvs 4 h and 40 minutes.

Att surfa på Youtube och Facebook drar mer kraft än vad folk anar.
Jag ser en kraftig ökning av CPU användning bara av att öppna en flik med Facebook.

Med vad är skillnaden mellan en vanlig laptop och MAC då?

4 timmar är väldigt vanligt för de nya, billiga och gemensamma datorerna
