Garrison argues that the "bias and prejudice" of the trial judge require reversal. This contention is totally without merit.

(Letter from Caroline Christenberry to Clay Shaw, March 9, 1969, from Shaw's personal papers at the National Archives.)Dear Mr. Shaw, Our most sincere congratulations! We shared your anxieties over the past two outrageous years. Should your case have eventually found its way to Federal Court and been allotted to my husband you most certainly would have had a fair trial. He felt we should not risk the possibility of being considered “prejudiced” in advance. This is our reason for not openly expressing these sentiments much earlier..
Our most sincere best wishes for an upward trend of happy events-and for some private and tranquil time to ENJOY!

Paine died on Sunday in a senior living facility in Santa Rosa, California, her daughter Tamarin Laurel-Paine said Thursday.
Oswald’s wife and children had been staying at Paine’s home in the Dallas of suburb of Irving in the fall of 1963. Oswald stayed at the house the night before the assassination, and before setting off to his job at the Texas School Book Depository, retrieved his rifle that he had stowed in the garage — unbeknownst to Paine.
