"“The origin of frequent Eurasian severe winters is global warming,” said Prof Masato Mori, at the University of Tokyo, who led the new research. Climate change is heating the Arctic much faster than lower latitudes and the discovery that the chances of severe winters has already doubled shows that the impacts of global warming are not only a future threat. Melting Arctic ice has also been implicated in recent wet summers in the UK.

The new research, published in Nature Geoscience, shows that the increased risk of icy winters will persist for the next few decades. But beyond that continued global warming overwhelms the colder winter weather. The Arctic is expected to be ice-free in late summer by the 2030s, halting the changes to wind patterns, while climate change will continue to increase average temperatures."

science in a certain direction, to reflect their negotiating positions

the IPCC, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, had to remind the delegates at one
point that they were working on a summary for policymakers, not by

Nej. 1900-talets uppvärmning har främst hänfört sig till de kalla delarna av norra halvklotet och de kallaste delarna av året och dygnet (vintertemperaturerna och nattemperaturerna).


Ptja... IPCC är ju trots allt ett politiskt organ.

Detta och fortsättningen i artikeln visar ju tvärtom att IPCC stoppar försök från regeringsrepresentanter att påverka innehållet, så det passar deras regerings mål. Alltså raka motsatsen till det du brukar påstå; att det är politiker som styr klimatforskningen.

"They are there to make sure that there is nothing in a document that their government approved that is inconsistent with their government's negotiation position," said the person with knowledge of the proceedings."

Ordförande påminner alltså delegaterna att de skall göra en sammanfattning åt beslutsfattare, inte av dem.
