As a political idea, not it is not much alive and there is no reason for it. Panslavism as political movement was founded at the time when most of the Slavic nations were not independent and were suffering under different levels of foreign oppression. Most of them lived under Germans, Hungarians and Turks. Idea behind panslavism was that by supporting each other, especially with support of Russia, they can more effectively fight for their rights and free themselves.
One also must understand that panslavism was not single movement. Slovak, Polish and Russian panslavism could be and often was different, sometimes even mutually exclusive. In other words, different Slavic nations even different people had different ideas of what panslavism should be and how it can be used.
On the other hand as as general cultural idea, yes panslavism is still alive. All Slavic nations regardless of their quarrels between each other have sense of common history and related identity. Most of the Slavs view other Slavic people as brothers or at last cousins. There are also several panslavic organizations and Panslavic Congress is held regularly in tradition of first one in Prague 1848 (every 2 or 5 years I think).

In general Slavic people tend to stick together. You can see it especially between Slavs living in foreign countries.
