Satellite images from March 11, 2026, provided to the Institute for Science and International Security by VantorTech, show that the Talkan-2 facility was attacked. The images reveal three large penetration holes from bunker-busting bombs in the roof of the facility, exactly in the area suspected to house equipment used for experiments related to nuclear weapons development.
It appears that the hits were precise along the main hall of the testing facility, and that the explosion occurred inside the building causing significant damage outside as well: a protective battery collapsed and a small building to the southeast was destroyed by the blast force.
Additionally, the fire control and instrumentation building at the Talkan-1 site was completely destroyed.
The site has been under construction since before the June 2025 war, and Iran invested considerable efforts in fortifying and hardening the facility.
