A breakdown of the destruction of a Ukrainian Mi-8/17 on Snake Island that was attempting to land an amphibious assault and which the Ukrainian armed forces are trying to pass off as a Russian helicopter.
Today, the Ukrainian armed forces' OC Yug and the Bandero media claimed the destruction of a Russian Mi-8 helicopter on Snake Island and cited the following video to confirm it.
But upon close examination, it becomes apparent that the video captures the moment of the Ukrainian landing from the Mi-8 helicopter and its subsequent destruction by the Russian side.
The video clearly shows paratroopers positioned around the helicopter, securing the landing site (carried out when landing in enemy-controlled territory).
Next comes the unloading of ammunition (if this is a Russian helicopter, this procedure is redundant - the ammunition is already on the island).
And lastly, the explosion of the helicopter is caused by a relatively high-powered munition (e.g. FAB 250, 500), but by no means a Bayraktar missile.
