Någon som begriper varför vi säljer vårt vaccin till Norge? Hade inte de doserna behövts här?
Sweden isn't selling it's vaccines to Norway.
The European Union has decided to negotiate with vaccine manufacturers as a single entity, and the aquired doses will be split between countries based on population.
Norway has been included in that entity, and is part of the EU's ongoing deals on the purchase of vaccines.
Sweden is just a link, whereby Sweden is formally buying the doses for Norway, and selling them at cost.
If Norway didn't buy those doses, Sweden wouldn't be receiving them at all.
It's not like Sweden would get twice as many doses, in fact, it's the EU that has decided that Norway should be part of the agreement, Sweden has just gracefully agreed to be an intermediary.
One of the reasons for this, is that Norway is instrumental in GAVI, CEPI and other vaccine cooperations, and has been so for years.
In fact, CEPI was originally founded by Bill Gates and the Norwegian Goverment.
Norway has contributed billions of dollars, over many many years, to companies like Moderna and BioNTech, for their development of vaccines, and is one the absolute top financieers of the vaccines you're all now getting.
If it wasn't for Norway, these companies wouldn't have been researching mRNA vaccines for all these years, and there wouldn't be a vaccine ready yet at all, so you should be thankful.
