Polish reforms of judiciary pose threat to rule of law: EU Commission
Citat:
Polish reforms of its judiciary pose a systemic threat to the rule of law in the country and Warsaw must change tack, the deputy head of the European Commission said on Monday.

I have to say very clearly to you today, the Commission is of the opinion that these laws do create a threat to the rule of law, a systemic threat to the rule of law in Poland,” Frans Timmermans told the European Parliament.

Automobile Woes Cast Cloud Over Eastern Europe
Nations that grew away from communism on auto production face uncertain future as the industry slows and confronts changes
Citat:
No country on the planet makes more automobiles relative to the size of its population than Slovakia, a mark of the giant strides the country has made since throwing off the shackles of communism three decades ago.
But as with many countries in central and eastern Europe, that reliance on auto making to drive growth may become a problem as the industry slows globally and faces big changes in demand and technology.
Polen är dock det ekonomiskt starkaste landet, så vi får se...
Citat:
There are already signs that an auto-sector slowdown is weakening the job market. Czech manufacturers cut payrolls at the fastest pace in almost a decade during October, according to a survey of purchasing managers conducted by data firm IHS Markit. “Firms highlighted a challenging environment for those in the automotive industry,” said Siân Jones, economist at IHS Markit.
The outlook for the region could get worse if President Trump imposes the tariffs on automobile imports that he has been weighing for six months.
“Countries with a big car sector, Germany, Hungary and Slovakia in particular, could...see a material impact on their economies,” Rabobank economists said in a note to clients.
Kommer Trump att krossa EU? 🙏🙏🙏
