is there a place in sweden that looks over all the social services?? i have tried twice to contact someone in norrkoping kommun with no reply.....it seems that something needs to be done ASAP.....if i need to talk to forsakringskassan they reply in a few days....it seems social welfare issues dont take much priority (same in australia)...

That would be www.ivo.se which is the nationwide government inspector of the local social services and some other care functions.

I have no idea how responsive they are or what the likely result of you contacting them would be but maybe it's worth a try.

Btw if you really have been in contact with social services before, the law in Sweden kind of says that you should receive a response within 24 hrs. Now, this is allowed to be a very vague response like "thanks for your email, we wil look into the matter in due course" but if you really received NO response at all, that is more or less in violation of the law.

It's probably a good idea if you communicate with the social services in writing, and any phone calls you make, follow up with an e-mail, so that there's paper trail. That would keep the bureaucrats on their toes.

oh yes i did get the usual automated response....i think because i do not have shared legal custody then there is no obligation on their part to inform me of anything...but anyway i will try again and if no response then i will try your suggestion...there is an english online form i can fill out on the english part of the page
