"Oma went to Belgium to study biology and afterward ended up in Latin America. Mifa married Abraham and gave birth to three children, of whom I am the youngest. Oma married Leon Rozental, a Jewish diplomat from Venezuela, with whom she had a son, Andres, who is the same age as my brother, Ran. Oma spoke perfect English, Russian, Spanish and French, and was less fluent in other languages. She also remembered a lot of Hebrew from her parents' home, though she never made a big deal of this. Her mastery of languages led her to the United Nations, where she established the system of simultaneous translation. Some years later, she divorced Rozental and married a member of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, Jorge Castaneda. "
