A few weeks ago I found this article:
www.outwardon.com/article/the-new-human-trafficking-hotspot-Oman
It says that in Oman more than 130.000 female migrants from Asia and Afrika were employed as domestic workers in 2016. 88% of them were abused.
'Verbal, physical and sexual abuse as well as threats of violence, drastically diminished wages, excessive working hours, horrific working conditions, confiscation of passports and even murders have been reported, causing international outrage in regard to Oman’s employment practices.' These women and girls can't just leave their work, because the employers hold their passports, so they are more or less in a hopeless situation.
So you don't have to invent dramatic stories about pedo-mafia, you can find victims of 'Human Trafficking' in many households in Oman.
You can be sure that Tim knew about the double standards: the laws on the one hand, and real life on the other hand. (Another example is, that in Oman homosexuality is punished by 3 years of prison, but in reality you can find it everywhere an it's an open secret that the current Sultan himself is gay.)
Tim was a socially engaged person, and was very interested in the topic. After finishing the 'For a Better Day' video he said that he wanted to make people aware of the problem and promote the discussion. And now after retiring he had more time to think about it.
So would it be completely crazy to think that he just asked a few questions about it, when there was the opportunity? He perhaps felt safe because of his fame and his friendship to a member of the Royal Family.
I had this idea, when I read Levan's post to Tim's death. he wrote:
'Never did I see you judge a person based on the opinion of others, and never did you let others judge someone that wasn’t there in person to defend themselves.' So it would look like Tim, if he had tried to find out what's really going on. Not a spectacular action, just collect information, perhaps a talk to s.b. or a discussion.
Another hint is, that his friend Alessandra Ford Balasz was in Muscat the same time. She supports her mom's organization 'Freedom For ALL' against Human Trafficking.
And his hosts were not stupid. They knew, that a song or a video by Avicii could reach far more people than a speech of a politician or a human right's activist. Even if Tim had no concrete plans there would always be the possibility of carrying information into the rest of the world.
I think this scenario is absolutely not unrealistic.
