Men ändå, "just another day in Russia".

When asked if alcohol was being pushed to the delegation, Mr. XXXXX stated, "
No it was not being pushed at all, and the Russian side did not imbibe heavily; they, they had, you know, they, they were having,
they were sipping their shot glasses." Additionally,.Mr XXXXXX stated that, "one could even put a hand over the shot glass and the servers would not refill it with vodka, and nothing was said."
Lt Col XXXX stated that even
the RF delegation lead was drinking water during the event: I think it was the drink to the military, then drink to the family members or women and drink to uh, the fallen .. on those everybody usually drinks and then she said on the other ones like the Russian General across from us,
he would pour water in his shot glass and he would say I'm in charge so I need to be sober today"

When we got to Red Square and other places
he had to hold on to the pillars, the columns that were around us. Um, it, it, it almost seemed like, um, like well, should I be, um, holding his hand or something. You know? And it was obvious
that he did not want to walk around Red Square that afternoon, that evening because he couldn't.

The IO (Interrogation Officer) highlighted a number of statements from witnesses regarding Maj Gen Carey's conduct:
"What's wrong with him?" (Ex 16:26)
"wanted to crawl _under the table. . "(Ex 20:18)
"And the Russians were looking at him like "are you crazy"?" (Ex 16:26)
"When the conference was done and we were in the airplane I didn't want to have anything to do with him." (Ex 18:27)
"went into my hotel room and hid there until the next morning because I didn't want to end up in another situation like the night before." (Ex 20:20)
