The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino security guard who was shot three times by Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock reportedly returned to work Monday.

Jesus Campos, 25, had been staying at an MGM Resorts International property since the massacre, which left 58 people dead, occurred Oct. 1. He was still staying at the hotel at the company’s expense as of Tuesday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Campos was also expected to receive a subpoena to testify on the timeline of the shooting and other circumstances surrounding the attack, KSNV-TV reported Monday.

He will be given the subpoena by an attorney for Rachel Sheppard, a 26-year-old from California who was shot three times in the attack, the station reported. Sheppard is one of six plaintiffs who have filed lawsuits related to the attack, according to the New Yorker.

The FBI also discovered emails between two accounts connected to Mr Paddock. One from early July indicated that Mr Paddock had begun taking steps to carry out the attack, referring to a “bump stock,” an attachment that enables a semiautomatic rifle to fire faster.

In an email Mr Paddock sent on July 6 to an account that also may have belonged to him, he wrote: “try an ar before u buy. we have huge selection. located in the las vegas area.” Another email sent between the accounts read, “for a thrill try out bumpfire ar’s with a 100 round magazine.” By “ar,” Mr Paddock appeared to be referring to rifles.

The Las Vegas police took the unusual step on Friday of releasing key details about the investigation into the Oct. 1 shooting that killed 58 people and wounded hundreds of others.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, the head of the Las Vegas police, said in a news conference that while he was confident that Stephen Paddock was the only gunman, there was still another person under investigation who is likely to be charged in the next two months.

The authorities have said that Stephen Paddock was the sole gunman responsible for the attack, but that there was one additional person of interest still under investigation whom they declined to identify.

The records also included another person of interest, Douglas Haig, whose name the judge ordered redacted. The Las Vegas Review-Journal used an unredacted copy and identified Mr. Haig.

Mr. Haig’s whereabouts was unknown and he could not be reached for comment.

A Douglas Haig in Mesa, Ariz., who is an engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, also operated a company called Specialized Military Ammunition, a limited liability corporation his wife opened in 2012. In October, Mr. Haig told Newsweek that he had been interviewed by agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He said that he did know Mr. Paddock and had not sold ammunition “for a long time.” On Tuesday, a website for the company noted “We Will Be Closed Indefinitely. Check back to see if/when we are up and running again.”
