The Pentagon says Russia continues to send in troops along Ukraine’s eastern border for what it says are exercises, but so far the U.S. has not seen evidence that those exercises have taken place.
Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters today that the U.S. remains concerned about the growing troop presence along the eastern Ukrainian border and it’s unclear what their intent is.
He would not say how many troops have gathered there beyond saying, “thousands … there’s no question about that.”
Several U.S. officials have told ABC News that Russia has gathered about 30,000 troops in various locations along Ukraine’s eastern border.

Nationalists from the Right Sector have circled the Ukrainian parliament in Kiev and threaten to storm the it. The protesters demand the resignation of the interior minister after their leader Muzychko was killed in a police operation.
Some 250 members of the Right Sector, which recently was revamped into a political party, have flooded the square in front of Verkhovna Rada in the Ukrainian capital on Thursday night. Wearing masks and brandishing bats, they are shouting "Avakov, get out!" "You have lost Crimea!"
More people are reportedly streaming in. RIA Novosti says the parliament building is empty except for guards. Local outlets cite concerns the rally might attempt to break into the parliament.---
"We’ll wait for the negotiators from the Parliament, the MPs, but we won’t settle for Avakov’s resignation – we want his tribunal,” the radicals announced through megaphones.
The radicals also blame the interior minister for not putting enough effort into investigating investigate the deaths of protesters during the Maidan standoff in January and February.
Muzychko begravdes.

The killing of radical nationalist leader Oleksandr Muzychko, also known by his nickname "Sasha the White" was enough to make shaven-headed, hardened paramilitary men cry.
"He was like a brother to me and my comrades. But that bastard Putin murdered him," said Anatoly Valsyuk, as he choked back tears.

"The Right Sector will do its best to launch a partisan, guerrilla war. The land will literally burn under the feet of the invaders. We will not be lambs to the slaughter. We will defend our independence by any means necessary," he said.
Despite fears Ukrainian government security forces could target other Right Sector leaders, Yarosh made the trip to Rivne to march alongside Muzychko's coffin.
He was flanked by black-clad bodyguards, one brandishing a Russian-made machine-pistol, the other a high-powered sniper rifle.
Yarosh, too, blamed Russian sympathizers within the Interior Ministry for killing Muzychko.

In Ukraine it has been reported that the president of the rebel Chechen republic, Dzhokhar Dudayev, decorated Muzychko with the order “Hero of the Nation” and named a street after him.

The nationalist groups, rather than the police, enjoy a great deal of confidence among the public, Skillt told us. “They have acted in an exemplary manner, as far as the people are concerned. They have stood up to armed police officers, in many cases while unarmed, and at great risk to their own lives. This won the confidence of the people.”
