Autism treatment in Sweden

Hi all,

I hope you are doing well,

My son has been diagnosed with Autism spectrum in Sweden,

We got documents with diagnosis,

Currently we are looking for any treatment/support for the kids with autism in Sweden such a psychologist,logoped and etc.,


Really appreciate your help and support with that who had any experience with autism in Sweden,

Did your son get his diagnosis here in Sweden? If so he should already be in the system. If not you can contact LSS through your Kommun and continue from there.

In my experience, the best you can do is to contact your local barnavårdcentral/BVC unit and ask them for a referral to a habilitation center (Swedish: 'Habiliteringen')

Once you get a referral to such a canter they offer all sorts of help.

We have been in Habiliteringen' couple of months ago and they only offered to my wife special trainings for parents and there is nothing more offered from them such a psychologist or logoped....

When he had a meeting with them we asked logoped and they said no needed for now...

It seems we have to fight and push here to get some support...

Ja, allt dom erbjuder är möten och undervisning hur man ska ta hand om barnet själv.
Du kan söka särskolar, men det verkar vara hopplöst få platser.

If it is like you mentioned above ,why everybody here says sweden good country for kids, if there is no chance to get any support from government when your kid has illness?

Everywhere I hear that the medicine is free here...

May be I am doing something wrong??
