psychicsailor.

I Stand corrected. Men jag skulle inte tro att det är mot regelverket att citera hela posten.
Regeln gäller upphovsrättskyddade texter. Dit hör inte kommentarer på tuben.
Jag lägger in den då personen verkar insatt:

Ok. Ukrainian here. I'll provide some internal context as much as my English will allow me. It would be a long post.
1) First, you need to understand the person whom RT is quoting.
Yuriy Lutsenko – ex prosecutor general of Ukraine until 2019 (before Zelensky). You may consider him a reliable source, but he's not. One reason for that is some scandals connected with him during his work (local ukrainian ones, connected to some arguable prosecutions and ineffectiveness in court cases against people responsible for tragedies during Maidan revolution).
Second reason – his opposition to current party in power (to Zelensky party). You see, we out here don't have a Government of National Unity (or how you call it) as in, for example, Israel, when during existantial crysis for country lead and opposition parties unite to oppose the threat. Well, some sort of that we had during first month of war while russians were at Kyiv's back door. After that there is politics everywhere. And political parties are trying to drown each other at every opportunity. Sad story and it is actually making all ukrainians mad, but it's one thing you need to keep in mind, when listening to someone from our government (ESPECIALLY when there are no longer in power). So Yury Lutsenko not an excaption.
2) Context where and when Yuriy Lutsenko said the thing
He was interviewed on the ukrainian TV channel called "Pryamiy" (may be translated as "Straight" directly). This channel owned by previous president Petro Poroshenko (not directly but through loyal people). And all channels of his were banned from National News Marathon, which is basically all ukrainian TV channels combined effort in one governmental line. And those channels like to harshly criticize Zelensky and all and his party doing.
3) And now the most important thing – WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID
During interview Yuriy Lutsenko was criticizing todays government in not communicating ukrainian losses on the battlefield. And he started talking about 500k man needed to mobilize (the number was mentioned by Zelensky at his press conference), and according to that number he assumed that 500k / 12 month = around 30k KIA or wounded our soldiers a month that need to be replaced.
And this statement of his is incorrect in base. Because when that number (500k mobilized) was mentioned, it was stated by Valery Zaluzhny that it is NOT for simple replacement only, but for enlarging to be able to withstand upcoming russian mobilization.
4) So,what happened next
In video you can hear that Russian propagandists referring to some source named "Strana ua". You may assume that it is ukrainian media. And it is, BUT it is pro russian. How do I know that? Well, did you hear anything about Evgeny Muraev? This the owner of this channel "Strana ua" and also a bunch of others such as "Nash" for example. And this person in summer 2023 was accused of carrying out subversive activities against the state through his propagandistic media. And he is the person whom russians was initially going to put as their puppet in ukrainian government instead of Zelensky after they would achieve a quick victory just in 3 days of invasion.
This "Strana ua" was banned from TV in Ukraine as well. But some of their propagandists fled to Russia and now are making 'news from Ukraine' from there.
5) So russians again twisted everything in their favor
Through this banned channel "Strana ua" they projected that Yuriy Lutsenko said 30k ukrainian soldiers KIA per month. And then official russian media refferenced "Strana ua" as a 'reliable source'.
But it was just Yuriy Lutsenko's assumption about 30k KIA derived by his political intention to critisize Zelensky and his party.
So now you know a whole story of that number. I tried to make it as clear and as understandable as possible.
You might not believe me as well (because i'm just another random person on the Internet). And I encourage you to double check everything if possible. But you missing a lot because our (ukrainian) local political cuisine is rarely enlightened in English speaking media.
P.S. I hope my hour of typing this text will be interesting for someone. And I apologize for any possible grammar mistakes.
Slava Ukraini!
Alltså är det:
