En organisation som tydligen satsar ganska hårt i europa framöver, lite info här:

New MMA promotion EuroFC , lead by former Olympic committee marketing director Jarno Kukila from Finland, has already plans set for events in Finland, Copenhagen and Prague.
"EFC, eh?"

BJJGibbon

First event will be staged in Espoo Finland in October and the goal is to arrange 10-15 yearly events in major cities around Europe by 2018, in arenas with 6000-15000 viewer capacity.

Although founded in Finland, promotion has owners from several countries, and has also managed to allure professional investors with no previous connections to the sport.

Promotion will start with net streaming but hopes to spread to television broadcasting soon.

Kukila says:
"We have made marketing analyses and noted that global sports are strongly tied to time zones, and European primetime lacks quality MMA events, held in the major European cities."

"We looked through all the larger European promotions from Poland, Sweden, Germany, Russia and British Isles and saw that none of them had plans on the kind of expansion that we are looking for."

"There is room for this now, and we are not so naive that we would think that no-one will fill it if we won't act quickly."

"We will not be competing with the local promotions, for we will be organizing only one yearly event in one part of Europe. With UFC we are rather looking for partnership than competition."

Kukila has clear visions on how to get new fans for the extreme sport, and refers it to the task NHL had when it wanted to spread to Florida.

"We want to be sportwise credible and reach more than just the sports enthusiast. We want to be an entertainment brand. We want to make the sport easily approachable. We must teach the European audiences what MMA is about and get them to know the athletes. People are interested in good entertainment, thrills and stories."
