Absolut.

What about the increase in electricity generation? Let's use Sweden as an example. 42 % of our primary energy is supplied by oil. About 50 % of that oil is used for transportation. Counting conservatively, an electric car is about three times as efficient as an ICE car. Let's say the whole tranportation sector is changed to electric motors and batteries.
That means the Swedish electricity generation as a percentage of primary energy must increase 42 %/2/3 = 7 %. This should be compared to the current hydro and nuclear share of the Swedish primary energy, about 13 % each.
The nuclear power share is baseload and hence works pretty much around the clock all year. The nuclear capacity is approximately 9 GW. Ok, 9 GW is 13 % of primary energy. Let's say 4,8 GW equals the required new 7 % primary energy.
The new Finnish reactor has a capacity of 1,6 GW. 4,8 GW/1,6 GW = 3
So, to reduce our oil consumption 50 % and eliminate oil from the tranport sector we would need to build three new, big modern reactors. Total price: 9€ billion.
Of course, building all the new cars will cost a hell lot more than 9 billion euros, but that also means plenty of highpaying qualified jobs, just as three new reactors means plenty of jobs too.
