I agree with you. But it is difficult to compare, because Tim's life since he was 17 was completely different from the 'normal' life of a teenager. How to prepare a child for a life like this? To be able to earn 500.000 USD a day at an age where others just start university or another education?
And all the pressure and obligations connected with this.
I don't know your situation, but this is not the life a normal mother like me expects for her children. I think I would be overwhelmed, with a teenager like Tim was. It's not always clear from the beginning which are the right decisions and which not.
(When I think of all the wrong decisions I made as a teenager, I'm really happy that these are not discussed in a forum)
I often tried to imagine Tim's situation when he was 18. He left his parents very early, perhaps because of the the big age difference? Already then Tim used to surround himself with all his friends to make music until late in the night. And then the great opportunity: the contract with Ash.
Tim said in an interview, that in the beginning his only wish was to have success with his music and to earn enough to support himself. Ash promised all that and it became true. Everything that later grew out of this could not be guessed at that time, not by a teenager and I think also not by his parents. And then everything went so fast, it is hard to imagine that Tim earned a fortune of more than 80 million dollars in just a few years, the time other young people need to finish their education.
I admire him for having stayed so normal and grounded and that he donated so much money for organizations and projects he believed in. From my point of view he tried to give the best he could.
