NOAA bekräftar att juli 2019 var den varmaste juli-månaden som uppmätts.
Även den arktiska isen satte rekord, isens utbredning är den lägsta sedan mätningarna började.
Dessutom var alla månader från januari till juli varmare än normalt.
NOAA Confirms July 2019 as Hottest on Record; Unprecedented Ice Melt Observed in Arctic
In line with the observations from various climate scientists, a prominent scientific agency of the United States has confirmed that July 2019 was the hottest month on record. On Thursday, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that the global temperature of July 2019 was 0.95°C higher than the 20th century average of 15.8°C. It is the maximum departure from average temperatures since global records began in 1880.
Another troubling detail from the NOAA report is that the average Arctic sea ice has reached a historic low, indicating that the impacts of warming are already evident. The average for July was 19.8% below the long-term average. The sea ice extent in July is the lowest is the smallest since satellite records began in 1979.
…
Scientists say the trend is clearly revealing the warming pattern across the globe. Nine of the ten hottest July months ever recorded occurred since 2005, and the last five Julys from 2015 to 2019 are the five hottest. Moreover, July 2019 was also the 415th consecutive month with above-average global temperature. All months of 2019, from January to July, feature among the top four warmest ever for the month in question.
