Today there is a market to buy and sell Co2 offsets, just like stocks on a stock exchange - check this --> ICE Futures Europe Ausante is NOT on the worldmarket today. However, the plan is that we will be that from spring/summer 2012 - and that will just increase the companies credibility to maximum.
In the mean time, we have to settle with the internal Ausante (exclusively for Ausante members) market which basically will function the same way as an external exchange.
The end user Ausante price is 32 cent/unit. This is a fixed price, but can be changed when the world market price changes significantly. DO NOT mix up the end-user price with the price on co2 in the Wholesale market. The retail price (to end-users) are significant higher than the price in the wholesale market.

As of October 2011, the price in the internal market will never go below 8 cent, and not above 28 cent per unit. Thus the price can fluctuate between 8 and 28 cent, which gives room for trading and speculations. 20% of all commissions made in Ausante HAVE TO go through the Ausante Carbon Units Exchange, and this will of course be a main upward force of the price. There is no hold-back time, so you can instantly sell what you bought seconds ago. This should ensure some exiting fluctuations in the price

The real unique feature of the Ausante exchange, is that you can sell the units you buy internally to the external market end user, f.i. your neighbor or another private person who likes to leave their green footprints. Of course, until you purchase units, your units account will have a negative number, since you need to "pay" back what the company lend you.
NOTE: There will never be more units for sale in the Ausante Exchange than what has been potentially added through new membership packages, i.e. the company will not supply units from themselves, and that can again entail days with shortage of units which again will press the price upwards. This way we will have a fully functional Co2 offset exchange, which many will find exiting and intriguing.
