Johnny Rivers (born John Henry Ramistella; November 7, 1942) is an American rock 'n' roll singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. His repertoire includes pop, folk, blues, and old-time rock 'n' roll. Rivers charted during the 1960s and 1970s but remains best known for a string of hit singles between 1964 and 1968

Sharon Sheeley holds the distinction of being one of the first and most successful female songwriters to hit the rock'n'roll scene during its burgeoning years in the late 50's. Sharon was born into an Irish family on April 4, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. Sheeley attended Harbor High School in Newport Beach, California and briefly worked as a teen model before becoming a songwriter.

She was still a teenager when she penned "Poor Little Fool", which was a #1 smash for Ricky Nelson in 1958. This, in turn, made Sheeley the youngest woman to have ever written a major hit song at that time. Moreover, Sharon was the girlfriend of rockabilly singer Eddie Cochran, whom she was first introduced to by Don Everly of The Everly Brothers. She co-wrote Cochran's 1959 Top 30 hit "Somethin' Else". Other songs Sheeley either wrote or co-wrote for Cochran are "Love Again", "Think of Me", "Cherished Memories" and "Lonely".

Among the songs she wrote for other artists are "Hurry Up" for Ritchie Valens and "Runnin' on Back" for Del Shannon. In 1960, Sharon and fellow rockabilly singer Gene Vincent survived the unfortunate automobile accident in England which killed Cochran. After returning to the United States, Sheeley formed a partnership with singer/songwriter Jackie DeShannon; the distaff duo collaborated on such songs as the Brenda Lee hits "Dum Dum" and "Heart in Hand", Irma Thomas's "Breakaway", 'the Fleetwoods'' "(He's) The Great Imposter", "The Kalin Twins"' "Trouble", DeShannon's "You Won't Forget Me" and "Can't Help Forgiving You", "Each Time", and "Till You Say You'll Be Mine" for The Searchers.

Jackie DeShannon (born August 21, 1944) is an American singer-songwriter with a string of hit song credits from the 1960s onwards, as both singer and composer. She was one of the first female singer-songwriters of the rock 'n' roll period. She is best known as the singer of "What the World Needs Now Is Love" and "Put a Little Love in Your Heart" and, as the composer of "When You Walk in the Room" and "Bette Davis Eyes," which were hits for The Searchers and Kim Carnes, respectively.

Dodie Stevens (Real Name: Geraldine Ann Pasquale)
Born February 17, 1946, Dodie Stevens gained fame and is best known for her 1959 Top 10 hit, "Pink Shoe Laces", at the time becoming the youngest female ever to sell a million copies of a single. She released several lesser known pop hits in the early 1960's before briefly retiring from performing at age 16. She resumed her career in 1966 and later joined Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '77. She has also toured as a backup singer for Frankie Avalon, Loretta Lynn, Boz Scaggs, and for 12 years with Mac Davis.

The Rivieras were an American rock and roll group, who formed in the early 1960s in South Bend, Indiana, United States. They are best known for their hit "California Sun", written by Henry Glover. Despite their background as land-locked Midwesterners, they popularized their own variety of surf music, with a unique organ-lead sound. The band was also notable for being one of the last American rock and roll bands to top the charts before the British Invasion.

Scopitone films are the 1960s ancestors of today's music videos. They were distributed on color 16mm film with a magnetic soundtrack, and were made to be shown on a Scopitone film jukebox. The first Scopitones were made in France in 1960, and the Scopitone craze spread throughout Europe (particularly in West Germany and England) before crossing the Atlantic to the United States in mid-1964. By the end of the 1960s, they were gone.

Scopitone is a type of jukebox featuring a 16 mm film component. Scopitone films were a forerunner of music videos. The Italian Cinebox/Colorama and Color-Sonics were competing, lesser-known technologies of the time.

Based on Soundies technology developed during World War II, color 16 mm film clips with a magnetic soundtrack were designed to be shown in a specially designed jukebox. The main difference between these and the earlier Soundies and Telescriptions was the fact that like all modern music videos, all Scopitones featured lip-sync to a pre-recorded track.

The group was started in 1961 and made it's public debut at Lou Dean's "Night Train Dances", weekend dances and rock-and-roll shows which were held in Bayshore NY at the roller-rink, on friday and saturday nights, where in it's first year, was attended by close to 40,000 Long Island youths. Each week, in addition to top recording stars, the night train show introduced and featured many talented local singing groups and bands from the long island area. On January 26th 1964, when the night train audience voted for the first annual "Louie" awards for outstanding performance and popularity at the night train shows, the Tunisions placed first among the four award winners.

There were only two records recorded which were of any significance. They were " The Street" and "Tom-Tom", recorded on the Seville record label. Shortly after recording these records, the group appeared on the then wildly popular TV rock program, "The Clay Cole Show", live from Palisades Amusement Park in New Jersey, to promote their record. Two other songs "The Time" and "If You Should Lose A Good Thing" appear on the album "Night Train Special" under the name of "Terry & The Tunisions".

The Rev-Lons were formed by Rachel Hernandez in high school with four of her school friends in her sophomore year at Garces High School in 1958. When that group ended, she then introduced her younger sister Lupe, she was the soprano background singer. At the beginning Lupe and Rachel sang duets, later Rachel introduced her other younger sister Dolores, she was in the group for about a year.

They were then known in Bakersfield as "the Teens" and finally she brought in her even younger sister Fran, she was 12 years old and became the Alto for the Teens background singers. She had a great Alto voice. Dolores got married , she was actually older than Lupe and left the Teens.

They got discovered by Loyd Johnson who later became their manager and the girls became "The Rev-Lons" under Warner Bros and Reprise label. They were also under Garpax (Gary Paxton’s Label) . Garpax Records was an American record label established by Gary S. Paxton which first issued the song "Monster Mash" by Bobby Boris Pickett in 1962. It was distributed by London Records. The label lasted from 1962 to 1965.
