Yes, part of the murder was financed by a close relative to her husband, according to her emails. But there were also connections to swedish security services, as well as other business figures. Not all of her documentation is public . She was scared that she would be murdered because of what she knew. The gun is kept as a trophy.
Found the article - here is a copy and paste of the portion I was speaking of:
"Mrs Rausing, who verified her identity by sending a picture of herself with that day’s newspaper, even offered to share the reward money with Mr Wall for solving Mr Palme’s murder, although he declined.
He said: “I got the impression that she was in a rather unstable state of mind, but not crazy. She wrote e-mails that were rather intelligent and she could agree that she could be wrong on a number of things.”
Mrs Rausing said that a businessman, acting with a rogue policeman, was behind the Palme assassination because the Prime Minister’s policies “threatened his company and he did not want to lose it”. She wrote: “I guess I can see that it is going to be very, very difficult to prove anything, even though I KNOW I am right. I hope he doesn’t have me killed instead. Dont [sic] forget to investigate if I should suddenly die! Just joking I hope.”"
- what is interesting is that most articles regarding her emails only talk about a "Swedish businessman" - this is the only article I find that mentions a "rogue policeman"
Realizing she had an extreme drug problem - yet very interesting that she would bring up all this -
Question: Where did her husband go to college? Did he go to Lund University? or Uppsala?
