Police Shootings Research
In 2016, Fryer published a controversial working paper concluding that although minorities (African Americans and Hispanics) are more likely to experience police use of force than whites, they were not more likely to be shot by police than whites in a given interaction with police.[17] The paper generated considerable controversy and criticism.[18][19][20][21] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Fryer#Harassment_Controversy
Thomas Sowell:
Race and ethnicity
Sowell has been a prominent critic of government and civil rights policy approaches on race, and has argued that systemic racism is an untested, questionable hypothesis, writing, "I don't think even the people who use it have any clear idea what they're saying", and compared it to propaganda tactics used by Joseph Goebbels because if it is "repeated long enough and loud enough", people "cave in" to it.[65][66] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Sowell#Race_and_ethnicity
Wilfred Reilly:
Hate Crime Hoax
Reilly's book Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War was published by Regnery Publishing in February 2019.[3] For the book, Reilly assembled a data set of 409 allegedly false or dubious hate crime allegations (concentrated during the past five years), which he describes as hoaxes on the basis of reports in mainstream national or regional news sources. Reilly has stated this data set is available to anyone who requests it.[4] He uses this data to support his claim that a substantial percentage of all hate crime allegations must be hoaxes, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilfred_Reilly
Cambridge initially said claims of plagiarism regarding Arday's thesis and some journal publications had been investigated by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) and the journals in question.
LJMU - which awarded Arday his PhD in 2015 - concluded that he had not plagiarised work.
Earlier this week, Cambridge announced an independent investigation into his appointment. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1j1ye6n30no
The Guardian en sannare bild:
Plagiarism
Arday first faced allegations that he plagiarised parts of his PhD thesis and other academic research late last year. He has rejected the claims. The Telegraph reported that analysis had found more than 100 passages in his PhD were similar to another thesis by Paula Zwozdiak-Myers, a student at Brunel University of London, published six years previously.
An earlier investigation by Liverpool John Moores University, which awarded his PhD in 2015, did not uphold the charges of plagiarism but said they were probably caused by “honest and reasonable error”.
The Guardian tagit upp flera av:
Arday has claimed to have held a number of prestigious visiting fellowships and professorships at other universities.
The website for Jesus College, where Arday was a fellow, stated that he had been a visiting professor at the Ohio State University in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the University of Glasgow in the School of Education. Both universities denied this.
The biography also stated that Arday was still an “honorary professor at Durham University in the department of sociology”, where he had previously worked. The university told the Daily Mail that he no longer held any role at the institution.
Arday has also claimed to have completed a master’s in psychodynamic practices at Birkbeck, University of London, and afterwards became a fully qualified counsellor, which gave him a “rich understanding of mental health”.
However, when the Guardian contacted Birkbeck, the university said it had not been able to find records of a student named Jason Arday having studied there.
Arday has claimed to have published a book called Being Young, Black and Male: Challenging the Dominant Discourse, with Palgrave Macmillan. The publisher subsequently confirmed that it took a proposal from Arday but the book was never published. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/aug/06/rise-and-fall-of-jason-arday
