- Daniela and Dario Amodei left OpenAI five years ago to form Anthropic.
- Anthropic’s revenue has grown 10x annually for three straight years, with 85% coming from business customers — the inverse of OpenAI’s consumer-heavy model.
- Daniela Amodei, the company’s president and co-founder, has emerged as the operational counterweight to her brother Dario’s technical vision.

Anthropic is now valued at $183 billion and on track to nearly double that, according to a newly signed term sheet, with
Microsoft and
Nvidia joining its cap table.
Revenue has grown ten times annually for three consecutive years, thanks in large part to the fact that the company’s AI assistant, Claude, has become the model of choice for enterprises that care about reliability as much as capability.

Parting Thoughts on the Race to AGI
The above considerations lead us to the most critical insight of all vis-a-vis the race to AGI. If OpenAI and/or Anthropic succeed in fully automating AI research, there is a chance that the “takeoff” shall occur, with the result that no other lab shall ever be able to catch up to models built by these labs. In the “takeoff” scenario, even a large team staffed with the very best human AI researchers will never be able to compete with a model capable of superhuman AI research, and the advantages will only compound from there. A rival lab might reach automated AI research at a later date, but by then it will be too late - its model will not be able to compete with the much more advanced AI researchers compounding faster being operated by the other labs.
Assuming that one believes in this version of the take-off,
2 that should lead one to also believe that a chasm is already developing between those labs that are racing to automate AI research and those that
are not.

Citat:
Core War is a competitive programming game played out in a shared block of computer memory, called the “Core,” where two or more assembly programs fight for survival. Each program, known as a “warrior”, is written in an assembly language called Redcode. These programs are tasked with crashing their competitors while keeping their own processes alive. The simulation runs by alternating between the programs, executing one instruction at a time. A warrior “attacks” by writing invalid instructions (DAT commands) into the memory slots occupied by opponents, causing them to crash upon execution.
