1.2 Hello, Thank you for your email.
If you get the message: "CD-Key in use by [another player]", then someone else may have used your CD-Key to install the game. The [name] listed in this error message is not a Battle.net account name - it is the name entered when the game was installed. If this [name] is not the one you entered, please reinstall the game to ensure the correct key is entered. If the CD-Key is still in use, you may need a replacement key. Please follow the steps below to request a replacement CD-Key. Blizzard Europe can only assist with European versions of our games. For North American version assistance, please get in touch with our US support team:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msi0281p First of all, please try to exchange the game at the place of purchase.
If your retailer is unable to replace the game, Blizzard Entertainment Europe can replace it for you within 30 days of purchase. Unfortunately, if your game is older than 30 days old, we are unable to offer a replacement. For all exchange situations a note is required that explains what happened, what is needed, your full name, your phone number, a return address and the original receipt. Please send us your FULL box and contents and include your original receipt. Please ensure that you clearly type or print the following information to help avoid delays or confusion in processing your exchange.

We recommend you to use some form of tracking service to make sure your mail gets to Blizzard Entertainment. If we do not receive your package we cannot send the replacement. Please note that Blizzard will not replace keys or games purchased from third parties, such as friends or online auctions.
We are normally able to process these requests within 3 to 5 business days of receiving the materials from you (depending on your location). If you use tracking you can keep updated on when we receive it. Special Note for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne users: You will first need to identify which CD-Key is in use. If your Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos CD-Key is in use, you will see a zero (0) in parentheses at the end of the error message on Battle.net. If your Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne CD-Key is in use, you will see a one (1) in parentheses at the end of the error message on Battle.net. Only send in the appropriate CD-case. If you have any further technical questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

2.2 Hello........, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately if someone else is using your CD-Key, then you will not be able to use it yourself, and as you have had the game longer than 30 days we will not be able to replace the CD-Key. This error can happen for a number of reasons which may not be because your CD-Key is compromised. The message you get when you try and connect mentions a name of the person using the key this name is the name used to install the game, not the account name of the person, did you use the name ....... when you installed the game? If it is your own name then it may indicate that you still have an open connection to Battle.net and this is why you are getting this error. If you are using a router in your connection please try rebooting it to clear any active connection to see if this helps. You should also uninstall and then re-install the game to ensure the game is installed with the correct CD-Key. If the CD-Key is still in use and you have not shared it with anyone then it has been compromised somehow. If this is the case you should first ensure that your computer is secure, you can find details on how to keep your computer secure at the following page.
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=asi0462p Unfortunately if your CD-Key has become compromised then to get a replacement would mean purchasing a new copy of the game with an unused CD-Key If you have any further technical questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Best regards, Blizzard Entertainment Europe
