Breaking: Ukraine successfully struck Moscow, airfields and oil bases
Ukraine struck strategic facilities deep in Russian territory on the night leading to on August 2 in response to Russia's recent shelling of Ukrainian cities, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Saturday.
The revenge attacks targeted facilities involved in supporting Russia's full-fledged invasion of Ukraine, such as oil depots and airfield. Ukrainian troops hit the oil refinery in Ryazan, Novokuybyshev oil refinery in Samara region, and
"Anna Neftprodukt" fuel depot in Voronezh region. Another target was "Elektropribor" company in Penza region, south of Moscow, involved in production of secure
telecommunications systems, cryptographic communication equipment, and circuit boards for military hardware. Multiple explosions and fires were observed at these locations. Further details on the consequences are being clarified.
Primorsko-Akhtarsk military airfield in Krasnodar region was also hit. At this military airbase, Ukrainian drones hit storage and launch sites for Iran's "Shaheed" kamikaze drones used in attacks on Ukraine. The attack on the airfield was followed by fire. The operation was conducted jointly by units of Ukraine's Security Service, Special Operations Forces, and the Main Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with the General Staff.
